Did you know refinished golf balls have been formally accepted by the USGA. Rule 5-1/4 of the USGA rule book states that “it is permissible for such a ball to be used”. So there you have it, Refinished golf balls are permissible in tournament play!

5A Refinished Balls Description. These balls are pristine. They are clean with no scuffs, creases or markings other than the original markings plus the “refinished” term on one pole as shown.

4A Refinished balls Description. These balls are pristine but have definite flaws which could include misprints, minor scuffs and creases. They are a result of the quality control on the 5A grade. Most you will not notice any difference in play unless you are a scratch golfer. There may be a few in every dozen that are good only for practice or hit around but they are definitely an excellent value for the top balls in golf.
